As a Parent of a NEWCHAA Athlete I Agree to:

Unite with other parents, players/athletes, coaches, and the NEWCHAA board, in support of NEWCHAA’s Mission Statement and Policies as we foster a Christ centered athletic environment by applying the truths of Scripture to athletic careers, and as Scripture does, apply the lessons learned from athletics as we seek to imitate Jesus:
“Promote Excellence in a Competitive Sports Setting”
Competing to win. Trust the coach to lead and instruct the team. Playing time is not guaranteed, is not equal and must be earned. Among many other considerations, the amount of playing time a player receives is heavily influenced by their effort, attitude, and performance, both in practice and during games. It is ultimately the Head Coach's responsibility to determine which players will participate, when, and for how long, taking various factors into consideration. We encourage players to respectfully discuss any concerns about their role, performance, or playing time with their Head Coach.
Offer assistance for team needs whenever possible through volunteering. Allow officials and umpires to call the game, recognizing their fallibility, and acknowledging that the outcome of a game is not often determined by a single bad call.
Avoid criticizing or gossiping with your athlete about coaches or their teammates. This negatively affects your player’s respect for their coach/teammates and ultimately hurts the entire team.
Exhibit exemplary sportsmanship during games by using positive cheers, refraining from jeering an opponent or mocking their errors, and avoiding negative interactions with opposing fans.
Advocate for a drug-, tobacco-, alcohol-, and profanity-free sports environment during any NEWCHAA event. These, or any other activities that could hinder our players’, coaches’, fans’, or NEWCHAA’s testimonies in our community, will be addressed.
Help your athlete arrive on time for practices and games with proper equipment and readiness to play.
Instruct your athletes to inform the coach in advance of any anticipated missed practices or games. Any missed practices or games may result in loss of game play time at the coach’s discretion.
Raise any concerns about your family or athlete's participation on a NEWCHAA team with the coach respectfully, and in accordance with NEWCHAA’s Conflict Resolution Policy.
Familiarize yourself with the NEWCHAA Rules of Eligibility and notify the coach of any reasons why the athlete might not qualify to play with NEWCHAA.
